🥉 Rainbow Pasta at Kawaii Monster Cafe in Harajuku, Tokyo

You don’t need to wait ’til night time to experience the wacky side of Japan.

Enter Kawaii Monster Cafe. With “kawaii (cute)” and “crazy” as its theme, this unique diner in the hub of Tokyo’s teenage culture is a fun place to pop in for lunch or an afternoon munch.

When food looks cute or funky, it usually doesn’t taste that good. But this place wasn’t the usual.

The creative paint palette spaghetti (which was actually Aglio, Olio e Peperoncino, or just ペペロンチーノ) didn’t just look cool but was also tasty.

The coloured paint daubs were actually different flavoured sauces to dip the pasta onto; the rainbow pasta had enough flavour on its own though 😊.

The shows were a little too strange for me, but hey, why not have something a lil creepy rather than just kawaii-cute?

I would take a friend and pop in again next time I’m in Tokyo to try a new dish, so it’s a 🥉 (= I’d stop by) on #myrevisitlist.
