DIY Flex‑Frame Phone Pouch

I wanted a small pouch that opens and closes easily for carrying my phone when I don’t have suitable pockets.

So I put one together using a flex frame and added split eye pins on both ends. The strap can be swapped out, so it can be worn on the wrist, handheld, or as a sling.

Materials & Pattern

6 fabric rectangles and a 12cm flex frame was used to make this pouch:

Outside fabric (kitty cats sheeting)Two pieces: 14cm x 21cm
Lining fabric (blue duck cotton)Two pieces: 14cm x 21cm
Frame cover fabric (blue duck cotton)Two pieces: 14cm x 5.5cm
Flex frame One 12cm frame with two split eye pins

Sewing

I used my favourite Method #3 from my post that explored 5 ways to sew a Mini Flex Frame Pouch.

Straps

I made a shoulder strap using a leather cord and art wire, following the steps in my post:

The strap can be swapped out for any hand strap, wrist strap, or shoulder strap that has snap clips.

Results

This was a quick little project with a great result. It’s just the right size to hold my smartphone comfortably – or it can carry my glasses case.

Now I can just head out with my phone and keys in a wrist bag, or switch it to a sling 😊
