I wanted a light breezy dress with long sleeves to protect me from the sun and heat, so I whipped up this dress using upcycled fabric from my previous projects. Here’s the pattern and the making.

Pattern
This pattern aims for a knee length dress with long puffy sleeves.

Making
Steps followed were the same as Sleeves #2 in:
The general steps are:
Fabric used was cotton double gauze or “double cloth fabric (sage)” from Spotlight. It’s completely opaque.
This was an upcycle project, where I reclaimed the fabrics of my past two projects:
The bodice of the dress became the bodice (sideways), and the skirt lining became the sleeves (sideways).

The previous dress was a smock blouse to start off with, so it did a 360° transformation!
Smock blouse → Yoke Dress + Layered Skirt → Smock dress
Results
The result is a comfy, breezy dress that somehow doesn’t look too baggy.

It goes well with a thin black waist belt 🙂
