Replicating a Mini T-shirt

This cherry t-shirt fits me well so I thought I’d try replicating it.

Taking the pattern

I took the stitches out take off the sleeves. The neckline was bias bound, so I kept the bodice together (so I can serge the t-shrit back together one day).

I marked the front of the sleeves with a yellow dot sticker, but the front and back arm holes were close enough to just be reflected.

Finished Pattern

Measuring what I traced and cut up, it looked something like this.

Sewing

I cut the length longer than the original t-shirt in case I decide to make it longer.

But after trying it on before hemming it up, I decided the original was a good length, especially for this slim fit tee – it’s too slim to go over my hips without stretching.

Complete!
The contrast panel looks pretty nice!

Wearing

It fits as well as my cherry t-shirt, comfy, and the length is good to match a skirt as it stops at my hips.

But I think I prefer the sleeves to be a little longer, and the width to be a little less slim so I can play with the length.
